After the rough day I had yesterday,I was praying this morning that I would have a better day but if I didn't that I would remember to keep Christ as the center of my day and my life, that when I feel stressed and pressured I would focus on Christ instead of the situations surrounding me. Then God gave me a scripture on my way to work, I love it when he does that!
Matthew 14:27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. "It's all right," he said. "I am here! Don't be afraid."
If we look at the two chapters prior to Matthew 27 it deepens the meaning of the scripture
Matthew 14:24-26
24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o'clock in the morning Jesus came to them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him, they screamed in terror, thinking he was a ghost.
Then Matthew 14:27 comes along
But Jesus spoke to them at once. "It's all right," he said. "I am here! Don't be afraid."
Are you in troubled waters right now? Are you facing strong winds and heavy waves? Jesus says "It's all right, I am here, Don't be afraid!" Are you leaning on him, is he your rock, your foundation? Any other foundation will crumble underneath you leaving you exposed to be washed away by the crashing waves. Today is the day to make him your rock, no need to wait, he is calling!

I had a rough day today. Stress at work, at home, I felt like the walls were caving in on me. Ever felt that way? I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry and worse it's Valentines Day! Then into my darkness shined a light named Jesus and he dropped off a beautiful Valentine poem to remind me how much he loves me!
"You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.
You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what he wanted to make.
The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custome-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.
No that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.
You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Masters rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!"

My thoughts today come from Ephesians 1:11 "We were also chosen to belong to him. God decided to choose us long ago in keeping with his plan. He works out everything to fit his plan and purpose." This verse reminds me that God chose me, he predestined me, he thought of me, formed me in his mind, GOD THOUGHT OF ME! What an awesome thing to know and to think about. After reading that we should be able to look at ourselves and know that we are loved beyond anything we can imagine! Having a pitty party that no one loves you? Guess what God does and he proves it by showing you that not only did he chose you he thought about you and he planned you and he made you specifically to fit into HIS plan, what a loving and mighty father we have!! Did you realize that he chose YOU in keeping with HIS plan, not my plan, not your plan, not their plan but HIS plan! "He works out everything to fit his plan and purpose." This tells me that NOTHING suprises God. Every trial we go through, every temptation we struggle with, everytime we think that we have messed up AGAIN, God knows. God knew before we stumbled, he knew we were going to stuggle. How could he know? He created you, he thought about you, he knows you but the good news is "He works out everything to fit HIS plan and purpose." Remember not my plan and purpose, not your plan and purpose, not the worlds plan and purpose but HIS perfect plan for our lives but not for our own gain. This is not about you or me, we need to relize it all starts with God. You were made by God and FOR God and until you understand that, life will never make sense.

It is time to be honest with myself
God has been calling me to a higher standard. I would say lately but the truth is he has been calling me to a higher standard for a long time. Why haven't I listened? Why haven't I responded? Every time it is something different. Maybe I just didn't feel like talking to the woman ahead of me in line today, what if I look like a fool? "Not today God, next time." Or "I'm just too tired today God, maybe tomorrow". The time of excuses is now over. I am ready to answer God's call but what does that look like? and what do I do? and how do I get past my own laziness and self-doubt to do what God asks of me?
Romans 12: 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
So I am now on a journey, a journey to live the higher standard that God has called me to. Only with God and through God is this even possible. I have decided to blog about my journey with God and what I do and how God responds. Now mind you, I know nothing about writing a blog, I am not good at grammar or spelling so if you decide to follow me please understand it is not because of my love of writing but my love of God. I would love for any of you to join me and share your experiences also.
I plan to begin by spending the first hour of my day with God, that's it, just spending time. In prayer, in the word, worshiping, just me and God. I also plan to continue with my One Year Bible and any other devotion material that I feel is relevant for that day or that God may lead me to. I will try to blog each day and share what I feel God has put on my heart or if I am just struggling that day. Please join me on this Epic Journey!
Romans 13:11 And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

She is not angry or insecure. She is whole. It is she who must be awakened. There is another woman in you, a gentler, softer, more loving, more giving woman who has been repressed by circumstances.
You need to be loosed and set free. There is another woman who has a key to your destiny. She is courageous and resilient, determined and assertive. The word awakens that which should have been awake and puts to sleep some of the issues that should have retired a long time ago. This is the announcement that your soul has been waiting for. This is the announcement that releases you from the long night of repression and guilt. This is the announcement that the nation will feel. It is the blaring sound of an alarm clock shaking with the intensity of its convictions.
To all you who almost overslept, to all of you who have shed tears and thought you'd missed your chance, to all of you who have ever felt that you were too deeply entrenched in sin, to the damsel whose hair has grayed and whose steps have faltered, to the college student whose willowy arms are full of books and whose heart is full of questions, to all lovely women, young and old, black and white, simply said, but firmly meant, Talitha cumi! "Arise, little darling." It is morning!"
Are you ready?? It's time to Arise!!
